This site contains digital transfers of home movies shot on 8mm film by Stanley Zoobris between 1939 and 1964. If you, your relatives or friends appear in one or more of these films, you may request a copy of Stanley's film notes in PDF format. Please write for more information.

The original movies range in length from about 8 minutes to about 18 minutes per reel. Here, the films are listed as Chapters (with corresponding reel numbers) and are presented in roughly chronological order. However, Stanley did re-edit some of them in order to place footage of various families together. In doing so, he sometimes combined scenes from different years or events. In most cases, these edits are described in his notes. The last 24 or so chapters were transferred at a later date, and so are out of order with regard to the previous chapters on the list. Some of the films were not assigned a reel number. A few reels are missing, hence the gaps in the list below. In order to comply with technical restrictions, I have had to split some films into 2 chapters, as in chapter000a and chapter000b. The first two dozen or so chapters were transferred from film that unfortunately had seriously degraded over the years. Due to severe curl, it was hard to get a reliable focus, and the film stuck and slipped in the projection gate during the transfer process. The remaining chapters are in better shape. Other than Stanley and myself, there is to the best of my knowledge no indication of any other person's identity on this site. However, comments (over which I have no control) may be left on the YouTube pages. Please note: A number of the videos display what is known as "artifacts" and "pixellation" for the first few seconds; this distortion will clear up after 10 seconds or less!

A chapter has been removed for supposedly violating YouTube "Community Guidelines", insomuch as a toddler (me) playing in a splash pool can be considered "indecent". But apparently I have no say in the matter. Meanwhile, plenty of violent content remains undisturbed on YouTube. So it goes.
